Let the boxing commence!

Having arrived back in Hunstanton at 3am Sunday morning after a 500 mile and 10 hr drive south, from Islay I was generally intending chilling out today! But such a glorious day tempted me and Jacky to at least walk along Downs road on to  Lovers Lane and down through Old Hunstanton to the beach.

The skies were clear blue, the sun was the warmest so far this year 18c,  4 sp. of butterfly and double figure Small Tortoiseshell and Peacocks, plus 4 Comma & 2 Brimstone. The fields around Lovers lane held 50 Curlew and a minimum of 9 Hares, they entertained us with some short bouts of boxing, fantastic! Also along the lane at least 12 male Yellowhammer, several singing. It truly felt spring like.

Down on the Pitch & putt, I just couldn't believe the numbers of Pied Wags with nearly 100 present, a real dearth of these until very recently, plus c30 Meadow Pipit.

A great day to be out and back in Norfolk!!
