Comments: The serin was the highlight, only the second for us. It was a male its yellow face, clean white underparts and streaking obvious in the bright light. As it flew away it also twisted revealing the narrow bright lemon yellow rump. The bird called twice and hopefully picked up on the recorder nearby.

Comments: A nice strong SW wind overnight displaced a few birds our way. Best meadow pipit day of the year so far and siskins picked up as the morning went on. The marsh harrier flying into The Wash had green wing tags but these were unreadable. A female Black Redstart was present - possibly yesterday's bird -and both Wheatear and Chiffchaff were on the cliff top.

Totals: 2033 individuals, 30 species, 3:00 hours

Bold = Remarkable observation (scarce or rare species or large number)
Comments: A really nice morning with good variety and decent nos of some species. The first three common hirundines on the same day is quite likely a first for us. The tree sparrow count was the third biggest, while the goldfinch total was decent for March. The phylloscpus warblers was also very unusual, flying through strongly with no hope of identifying them.
