Two new garden records today. A pair of Blue-tailed Damselflies on the pond and at high tide (0930 BST) an adult light phase, Long-tailed Skua, flew low over the paddocks and garden in a very leisurely way towards Phil's house, its remarkably long tail flapping in the breeze!
About 1800 Sandwich Terns flew into the Wash off Gore Point in three hours this morning, as the the high tide dropped.
Yesterday the Gore Point wader roost at the morning high tide included 4 Greenshank; 250+ Dunlin; 350 Grey Plover; 300 or so Knot. Also a light westerly movement of Hirundines was evident with Sand Martins predominant and at the same time 3 Yellow Wagtails flew west.
