Flowers at Santon Warren

The area of woodland cleared to restore heath at Santon Warren has huge numbers of Viper's Bugloss and many plants of Dark Mullein.

Day-flying moths at Cranwich Camp

After a visit to Santon Warren yesterday I called in at Cranwich Camp on the way home.  There were lots of moths feeding on the scabious and greater knapweed flowers.

Sheep's sorrel leafmine

      Ever since purchasing the micro-moth "bible", I've wanted to find this extremely distinctive leaf-mine created by Enteucha acetosae, illustrated on the front cover. Well second sheep's sorrel leaf checked found this! Beginners luck or common? Quite likely new for NWT Holme and patch.
