Wasp Beetle in conservatory

This Wasp Beetle Clytra arietis strayed into my conservatory.

Marsh Arrow-grass and Flat Sedge

Phil found these two species recently on the grazing marshes at Holme. Both are known from the oath, but neither has been recorded for years.

A very cool Empid

As I was photographing this Empis tessellata at Redwell on 30th May 2015, it launched itself towards  a passing fly, grabbed it, landed and clinging by just one leg, drank the fluids from its body ! Impressive.
