Some Dune Fungi

A walk through the pines at Holme and the dunes to their East produced some interesting fungi today. These are ones I was able to identify.

Collared Earthstar Geastrum triplex in pine litter

Scaly Stalkball Tulostoma melanocyclum near the coastal footpath

Dune Waxcap Hygrocybe conicoides scattered throughout the dunes

Sand Stinkhorn Phallus hadriani on a sandy path through the dunes

Dune Cavalier Melanoleuca cinereifolia on bare sand in new dunes

A small bracket fungus Postia balsamea growing on a pine stump

Milky Bonnet Hemimycena lactea on pine needle litter
