An afternoon stroll at Holme

Having been away for a week and very busy beforehand, it was nice to get out for a stroll through the dunes and up to the Observatory. Still plenty of bird activity with Turtle Dove & Cuckoos still active and vocal. Also heard a Med Gull flying over whilst chatting with Robin, and a Yellow Wag, plus 2 Curlew in wing moult also flew over. Barn Owl out hunting early afternoon presumably feeding young.

The Natterjacks were almost deafening at Redwell, just after the rain shower!

In the dunes quite a few Southern Marsh Orchids are appearing along with some of the lovely deep red "coccinea" form, plus several stunning Bee Orchids.
