Butterflies

Butterflies stole the show today with 10 species recorded on the patch including the first Wall Browns (2) & Green Hairsteaks (7) for the year.  Birds wsie on the patch a Turtle Dove showed briefly in the morning whilst James Mccallum called out a redhead Goosander flying north-west over the reserve - what a May bird! Sweep netting in the Marram produced Bishop's Mitre Shieldbug and a lot more still to be identified!  There was a Large Red Damselfly on the NOA's pond with an Iris Sawfly.  Holme Hurst produced this as yet unidentified Hover.

Beat you Andy!
